Early this month, the Esperanza team had the opportunity to attend Latino Legislative Day hosted by the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs (OCHLA) at the Ohio Statehouse.
This impactful day brought together Latino leaders, advocates, and community members from across the state to engage directly with policymakers, participate in workshops, and strengthen civic engagement efforts. Throughout the day, sessions highlighted key topics such as workforce development, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and access to state services.
It was especially meaningful to connect with so many familiar faces and partners doing important work across Ohio’s Hispanic community.
During our visit, our team met personally with Rep. Tristan Rader (D–House District 13, serving Cleveland’s West Side and Lakewood) to discuss the continued importance of education, workforce pathways, and opportunities for the communities we serve.
We also extend our sincere thanks to keynote speaker Anthony Muñoz, NFL Hall of Famer and one of the greatest offensive linemen in league history. Beyond his remarkable career with the Cincinnati Bengals, his continued commitment to uplifting youth and communities through the Anthony Munoz Foundation is an inspiring example of leadership and impact.
We are grateful to be part of these conversations and to stand alongside leaders committed to creating a stronger, more connected future for all.

Esperanza, Inc., in collaboration with the Sisters of Charity Health System and Making A Difference Consulting, invites 5th–8th grade students to a summer experience focused on academic enrichment, workforce exposure, mentorship, and creative expression.

Build Your Computer Skills with Esperanza
Looking to strengthen your computer skills or get more comfortable with everyday technology? Esperanza is offering free Computer Skills Classes through our Tri-C Access Center, powered by AT&T, designed to help learners build confidence and practical digital knowledge.
From beginner to more advanced levels, participants will receive hands-on training in essential computer skills that support success in school, workforce pathways, and daily life. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to sharpen your abilities, this class provides a supportive environment to learn and grow while building skills that translate directly to today’s workforce.

Creative Collaboration Across Campuses
Last week, Esperanza, Inc. brought together students from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University, and the Cleveland Institute of Art for a collaborative post-secondary experience focused on creativity, reflection, and connection.
Together, students explored the complexity and beauty of artistic expression, engaging in conversations about how creative practices can support mental health and personal growth.
Of the 26 students in attendance, 17 were freshmen celebrating a major milestone, completing their first academic year of college!
This gathering also marked the third successful collaboration between Esperanza’s Advancing Leaders and the Cleveland Institute of Art. We are grateful for the continued partnership and the opportunity to expose students to new perspectives, ideas, and pathways through the arts!
