“Being part of Esperanza, it’s a life changing experience. Not only will they support you on your journey as a college student, but also in your personal life. They will be there for you no matter what, and you will not only have mentors, but friends that are going to stick with you your whole life. Esperanza is change and I am so grateful to be a part of the change!”

This Season of Inspiration, your generosity makes stories like Naomi’s possible.
Every journey matters, and even the smallest gift empowers a student to keep moving forward with hope and purpose. Together, we can keep inspiring change, one gift, one student, one story at a time!
Esperanza was proud to once again partner with the Cleveland Council on World Affairs (CCWA) to welcome a new cohort of Youth Ambassadors from Latin America, representing Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica, and Guatemala!
These inspiring students are each developing community projects focused on environmental sustainability, restoration, and infrastructure improvement in their home countries. During their visit to Esperanza, they met with our Post-Secondary Team, explored the resources and programs we offer, and participated in a SMART Goals workshop designed to help them turn their ideas into action and continue their journeys as young leaders of change.
Thank you to our friends at CCWA for continuing to build bridges of learning and opportunity across borders. Together, we are helping students unlock their potential, strengthen their leadership, and create pathways of hope that reach far beyond our community.
Esperanza’s ESL Guatemala program began three years ago at a rural middle school in Aldea Corral Grande, where it now supports 65 students in building their English language skills. This year, classes were taught virtually by Gabriel Villamizar, a dedicated volunteer instructor based in Medellín, Colombia.
Gabriel has done an extraordinary job leading lessons and connecting with students from afar, exemplifying the power of education and service that transcends borders.
