Meet Paula Cortés! Paula began volunteering at Esperanza in September 2017. She teaches ESL at the beginner level which includes practicing various skills such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Paula also participates in the College Mentoring Program and teaches Spanish to students in the evenings!
She volunteers at Esperanza because she loves helping the Hispanic community in return for helping her when she moved to Cleveland from Spain. Paula describes volunteering as a fun way to use your time. “You will learn a lot from this experience and from the very nice people you will find here. They make you feel at home.”
When Paula is not volunteering at Esperanza, you can find her traveling or hanging out with her friends and family.
